Avril Edwards

Avril Edwards, a senior community staff nurse with Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust, is currently on the senior staff nurse development programme. Avril is in the process of applying for her Community Specialist Practitioner training through University to train as a District Nurse.

About the development programme, Avril said: “I feel very lucky to have been given the opportunity to take part in the programme, it has definitely given me a flavour of what the District Nursing role entails and has given me the confidence to pursue my application.

“The programme has given me the insight and skills to be able to manage a team and caseload and made me feel I am ready to move on to the next part of my career. I am looking forward to eventually qualifying as a district nurse.

“Bradford District Care Trust has full supported me in developing further and is a fantastic trust to work for.”
