Development opportunities
Our leadership programmes
Our Leadership and Management Development Passport (LMDP) is for our leaders and managers, and those aspiring to be in a leadership or management role. The programme brings together our leadership and management learning, resources, and development opportunities, to support staff development.
Good leadership and management are at the heart of everything we do. We believe that how we do things is as important as what we do, and our leadership behaviours are everyone’s business. We want to encourage colleagues to combine their efforts, talents, insight, inspiration and enthusiasm, to work together to achieve success.
Our LMDP programme gives staff the skills, tools and techniques to lead and manage their team confidently, to deliver high-quality services. It also enables them to meet the challenges of the future. The programme aims to develop and nurture supportive leaders and managers who:
- Can adapt continuously and quickly to the changing NHS environment.
- Are engaged and motivated to deliver success.
- Create a high-performing learning culture.
- Believe, promote and act as role models for the Trust’s values.
- Confidently lead, motivate and manage teams and individuals.
The LMDP allows leaders, managers and aspiring managers to tailor their learning according to their own personal development needs.
Three learning programmes are part of LMDP: ‘Bradford Manager’, ‘Management Fundamentals’ and ‘Engaging Leadership’. Learning opportunities include a mix of face-to-face practical workshops, e-learning, one-to-one coaching and mentoring support, and self-directed learning resources.
Senior staff development programme
Our senior staff development programme forms a year-long secondment for community nurses to become senior community nurses. Each nurse on the programme is supported with an extensive training programme and individual mentor. The senior staff development programme provides community nurses with the skills and experience to apply for university courses to become a district nurse.
