Description

On Bracken ward we care for anyone over the age of 65 who is experiencing acute mental health issues.

We offer an assessment and treatment service to support you with the symptoms you may be experiencing associated with acute mental health. Our specialised multi-disciplinary team including registered mental health nurses, healthcare support workers and occupational therapists will help support you with personal care and structuring your day to support you with your recovery.

Bracken ward has 22 beds arranged across separate corridors for both men and women. All patients have their own bedroom, with key fob lock, enhancing privacy and dignity on the ward.

We do have separate dining rooms on the ward, but patients are encouraged to dine and take part in activities together.

Bracken ward is on the same site as Heather ward (female acute ward) and Fern ward (male acute ward).  The three wards share some facilities including dining areas, the gym and activities room.

From 1 July 2015 all our in-patient sites became smoke free facilities.
