Headshot of Joanne Squires

I have been a qualified nurse for over 20 years and am devoted to supporting patients working towards autonomous recovery.  I moved away from nursing and trained in various therapies but still very much class myself as a nurse from the core and have worked in therapy services for the past 12 years.

I have developed a passion for leadership, supporting innovative ideas and in particular testing new ideas on the ground and obtaining feedback from both staff and patients on ideas.  I have won the “we listen” Living our Values award twice for separate projects.   I believe listening to our patients and staff is what will inevitably make our services outstanding.

I have worked across many services within my time in the trust, this has included primary, secondary and tertiary services.  Whilst I have done many roles, my passion remains with the direct patient care and ensuring this is of the highest quality. This led me to clinical leadership where I have sat for the last five years of my career.  One of my strengths is the ability to be authentic and transfer language across patients and staff groups, putting the voices of those that need to be heard first.
