CLEAR 2024
Description
On Thursday 7 November 2024 between 9.00am and 4.00pm, the BDCFT Library and Research & Development teams hosted CLEAR 2024 at the Great Victoria Hotel in Bradford City Centre. The theme of the event was ‘The Power of Evidence: Advancing Equity in Access to Healthcare.’
At the event, there were two keynote speakers, a range of parallel sessions, the ‘Big Debate’, and poster presentations that highlighted quality local research and evidence based practice projects. The day was a motivational and learning experience for all staff interested in research and evidence based practice.
The event was opened by our Trust’s Chief Executive, Therese Patten.

It was our fifth conference and the ‘Big Debate’ has always been a popular aspect of the conference. This year, our debating panel argued their position on the following topic: ‘In a time of budgetary constraint, is health equity an achievable priority for the NHS?’
A range of posters were on display during the conference for delegates to view during the breaks and to vote for the winner. The results are:
WINNER: The Care Leavers Health Passport Project.
Claire Mercer, Specialist Nurse Children in Care & Care Leavers
Specialist Children’s Service, Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust
RUNNER-UP: The use of psychotropic medications for managing behavioural problems in people with intellectual disability.
