Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust has secured £50 million in funding, from the Department of Health and Social Care, to redevelop one of their hospital sites, Lynfield Mount, in Bradford.
The new facility has been co-created with staff, service users, families, and stakeholders, to create a therapeutic and recovery-focused environment which is designed to meet the evolving needs of patients, staff and partners across Bradford, Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven.
Therese Patten, Chief Executive at Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust said: “Our buildings at Lynfield Mount Hospital have needed improvements for some time and this investment represents a welcome opportunity for us and the communities we serve. The redeveloped site will set a new standard for care, providing our patients with the facilities and support they need to recover and thrive as well as supporting us in being the best place to work for our staff.’
Work will be carefully planned over a three-year period and is expected to start on site in 2025. During that time Lynfield Mount will remain fully operational to ensure continuity of care for all patients.
