Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust has recognised the service of 46 staff members, who together have given over 1300 years of service to the NHS, at a lunch-time celebration event.
Staff who have each given 25, 40 and 50 years of service to support local communities received a badge and a long service certificate to mark their achievement. Podiatrists, community and mental health nurses, palliative care specialists, and corporate and administrative staff were amongst those being recognised as were the Trust’s Chair Dr Linda Patterson OBE FRCP, who celebrated 50 years, and the Trust’s Chief People Officer Bob Champion, who marked 40 years.
Vicki Oliver, who is the Trust’s Clinical Lead for the Health Visiting Service and received an award for 25 years of service, said: “I’m proud to have been part of the NHS for 25 years. I feel honoured to have made a difference to many families throughout my journey and I hope to be with the NHS for a few more years.”
Bob Champion, Chief People Officer at the Trust said: “I began my NHS journey as a Hospital Porter in the early 1970s before training as an Operating Department Assistant working in theatres and then onto becoming a Paramedic in West Midlands Ambulance Service. I went on to do my degree later on in life and have worked in Human Resources ever since the mid-1990s. I have loved every moment of my careers through all aspects of NHS services across the length and breadth of the country. It has been a privilege to receive my long service award today and to be celebrated alongside so many other brilliant colleagues.”
Celebration of long service is an annual Trust event to recognise staff who have demonstrated a long-term commitment to local health care services.
Therese Patten, Chief Executive at Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust, said: “The event celebrated the hard work of our staff who have been with us for a long time, supporting local people and delivering great care. Marking 25, 40 or 50 years of service within the NHS is an achievement to be celebrated and I’d like to thank all our long-serving colleagues for their dedication, commitment and incredible service to our Trust, the wider NHS, and our communities.”
