non executive director sue butlerBradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust has announced the reappointment of Dr Sue Butler as a Non-Executive Director on the Trust Board.

Dr Butler has been re-appointed by the Council of Governors for a second term, having been first appointed in May 2012.

Bringing a wealth of experience to her position on the Board, Dr Butler has spent more than 20 years as a general practitioner and a further nine years as a primary care trust medical director.  After retiring from her medical director role, Dr Butler continued her interest in the NHS as a Clinical Commissioning Champion for the Royal College of General Practitioners and as an independent consultant as well as taking up volunteer roles in her local community.

As a Non-Executive Director at the Trust, Dr Butler chairs the Quality and Safety Committee, is a member of the Audit Committee and acts as the Trust’s Whistleblowing Champion with staff.

On her reappointment, Dr Sue Butler said: “I am passionate about quality within the NHS and I am delighted to be re-appointed as a member of the Board and continue in my role as Chair of the Quality and Safety Committee.  It is a privilege to work for the Trust and be part of an organisation that strives to provide high quality services across our diverse communities.”
