Bradford District Care Trust has scored amongst the top marks nationally in the annual NHS staff survey.

According to 2014 results published recently, Bradford District Care Trust has continued to improve in key areas such as staff engagement, staff recommending the trust as a place to work or receive treatment and staff feeling that patient care is the Trust’s top priority.

The Care Trust also performed significantly better than the national average for mental health and learning disability Trusts across the country in the following areas; staff motivation at work, staff having appraisals in the last 12 months and staff feeling they work within a supportive environment where they can raise any concerns.

Sandra Knight, Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development at the Care Trust, said: “I am delighted with the results of this year’s NHS staff survey. Receiving such positive feedback from staff is always encouraging and we remain committed as an organisation to supporting our staff to deliver the best possible care and experience for patients and their families.

“There are areas for improvement but overall I am confident that our staff feel motivated, engaged and able to deliver the best possible services they can. We have an ongoing commitment to improve and will use the results to focus on areas we need to target in the coming year.”

The NHS Staff Survey collects the experiences and opinions of NHS staff on a range of employment related matters such as access to training, job satisfaction, leadership support, exposure to violence and abusive behaviour from staff or patients and levels of support, and work-related stress. This year 46% of staff at the Care Trust completed the survey.
