Howard Marketing team competing to win for the second year running - from last year's tournamentThe Better Lives charity, which supports Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust, is inviting local people and organisations across Bradford, Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven to sign-up to its annual golf day on 25 July.

Seasoned golfers and amateurs are invited to join the annual tournament at one of Yorkshire’s premiere locations, the Bradford Golf Club.  The event has a ‘shotgun’ start with all teams teeing off at 2.00pm from one of the course’s 18 holes.

Tickets are £250 for a team of four and include the golf, a meal, a winner’s presentation and a chance to win a £10,000 hole-in-one prize.

All the funds raised will support additional activities for patients and carers across its hospital and community services that go beyond its core NHS provision.

Winning team’s captain from last year’s event, Howard Martin, director at Respond Marketing, said: “It’s a fabulous event with a friendly but competitive spirit across all the teams involved.  We’re all keen golfers but the tournament has the added bonus of raising vital funds for our local NHS trust.  It’s just after the NHS’s Birthday so what a fantastic way to support and celebrate, by getting involved, bringing a team along and playing a round of golf.”

Alongside the golf, there are also sponsorship opportunities at each hole.

People can email the Better Lives at betterlivescharity@bdct.nhs.uk to book a team or sponsor the event.

Catherine Jowitt, head of the Care Trust’s charity and volunteering, said: “This is our third golf tournament and it gets better every year. We’re really grateful to the Bradford Golf Club who are kindly hosting and to all the local businesses and people who are supporting on the day.  It should be a fantastic event in an amazing setting. We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone to the event.”
